PostSubject: Which holes must be tied up?   Sat Dec 14, 2013 11:13 pm

So I made this post for us all to list what plot holes must be tied up and if we think they will be. My biggest one is why the TARDIS exploded. I really hope it's solved in this episode. What about you guys?

Why the Silents had a pseudo-TARDIS, and what was it doing on Craig's roof.

Why didn't the Detroit Lions win the Super Bowl as Amy's newspaper reported in "Angels Take Manhattan"?

I thought that one was because the Crack was swallowing things up - like her parents.

Who was the lady in the shop that gave Clara the Doctor's number in "The Bells of St. John"?
They hopped and skipped right over this one in the episode, but did it in such a way that I thought for sure they'd come back to it. Why would some random lady (even one the Doctor helped) have a number for the Doctor that rang a phone that is not supposed to ring?)

I saw an edited gifset on Tumblr that revealed it to be Sarah Jane. Unless Moffat says otherwise, I accept it.

If The Silence raised and programmed River to kill the Doctor, then why does the Teselecta say that under the authority of the Silence and the Academy of the Question they have to punish her for it?

Just rewatched that episode. They don't. They say that she was given the orders to kill the doctor from the Silence and the Academy of the Question. Not that they got there orders from them/

I can answer part 1 of that question. The Headless Monks are part of the Church as a whole. As for why the entire Church is sporting Omega symbols... no idea.

I thought it might be something like... they are trying to bring about the end of the Doctor. Hence Omega symbols. Hmm.

Why are the Roman Catholic army okay with the Doctor when we first see then, then wanting to kill him later?

Liked the episode, but didn't actually like the "Why did the TARDIS blow up" solution. Probably should have just chalked it all up to the Time Lords.

Felt rushed but also made sense.

It was rushed and it did make sense, but it felt kind of "Oh, yeah, these guys did that. Problem solved." It feels like there was supposed to be another solution but this one also worked.

The episode does feel plagued by the "Should have been a Two-Parter" problem of Season 7, Part 1.

Yeah I felt the same way. I think Smiths departure really screwed up where Moffat wanted to go.
