Last week, the University of Arizona published the discovery of a new planet orbiting the HD 106906 star in the Crux Constellation, and the planet is currently named as HD 106906 B. It's about 300 lightyears away from Earth, it's a gas giant and it's estimated to be about 11 times the size of Jupiter!
A fan in Australia has started a petition to get the International Astronomical Union to name it 'Gallifrey' as a means of tribute to the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, and also because it'd be freaking awesome!
