my dad offered to take me to see this today so I went, I have a strict rule that I will watch anything for free lol. I enjoyed it, I have not read the book or anything but it was an enjoyable movie. not life changing or, anything that outta the box of what's been done in the genre but a popcorn eating thrill ride. one thing I did like about it that might turn people off is having the pg 13 rating. to put it plainly one episode of the walking dead has more gore than the whole movie, but that was kinda cool because it had that nice inferred/implied violence thing that is really fun and refreshing in this world of nonstop gore, which i'm not opposed to but this movie felt fresh by not using it because it is used so much now lol. prob a good date movie if you have a jumpy partner, they will be clinging to your arms! lol

Hnnnnn.

I've heard it's not a bad movie...IF you've never read the book. Considering the book is widely considered to be to literary equivalent of George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead in terms of significance towards advancing Zombie fiction...it's understandable why the movie is so divisive.

I guess my biggest issue was how the filmmakers felt the need to change so much from the story, including the utter nonsense that is the resolution. Ironically, the book makes the struggle to reclaim the world from the dead a very uplifting experience - we learn from our mistakes and we apply that knowledge - where the movie takes the easy way out with the all powerful Macguffin.

Fair being fair though, I suppose the battle of Hope, New Mexico wouldn't have the same punch seeing as how the movie didn't even bother to put Yonkers in. Yonkers - THE pivotal moment in the narrative...not even gets a mention.

At least the movie keeps the global perspective, even if it continuously follows around one character rather then jumping through various narratives.

Apparently Brad Pitt drives up 95 with no traffic during a zombir outbreak to go to Newark, NJ. Nobody should go to Newark even when there's no zombpocalypse.

As a fan of the book, I am afraid to see this movie. I don't want to keel over out of disappointment at the fast zombies.

We found it quite enjoyable. But, I am not a fan of blood and gore movies, so the drama and tension in this without the blood was what I enjoyed. To me, it almost seamed like an episode of Torchwood. A UN specialist going on a global search for a cure to the zombie plague.
