A rumour going around is that Series 8 will start in Autumn 2014 and be a complete series and run up to Christmas.
It would mean a longer wait for the 12th Doctor, but if its going to be a complete series I can wait.

What do you mean by a "full run"? A full 26 episode series like American seasons? Or just that we'll get 13 episodes in a row without the midseries break?

Not sure if I mind not getting all 13 episodes in a row, although if it eliminates an over the top midseries cliffhanger then I'll be happy with that. Saving the universe once a series is plenty with me, don't need to do it twice.

Give them plenty of time to write better stories.

26 would be great! But I bet its 13. They could afford it as Dr Who is the BBC's biggest earner.
The Doctor Who franchise made the biggest value leap last year with revenue climbing 49%, thanks to significant growth in the US. BBC Worldwide has seen a 45% increase in DVD and download-to-own sales, with Doctor Who the third-biggest seller in the US iTunes chart behind Mad Men and Glee.

12 episodes plus Christmas would be normal, right?

after the last 2 Series full of "mid-Series Cliff Hangers" that didn't really get resolved, I hope they can do this Series right. Would hate to see 12 start off on the wrong foot *cough* 6th Doctor*cough*

Even if he only had one Series, he would still have more screen time than McGann
