This is a surprisingly disappointing serial, especially considering being written by Robert Holmes and guest starring several great DW vets...including Philip Madoc, John Abineri, and in his only on-screen performance, John Leeson.  The story isn't awful, its just not very adventurous or terribly interesting.  Everybody plays it great, including Tom and Mary...and it looks really good overall...but somehow, it just fails to be engaging. I do really like all the location shooting in the swamps. It made for a visually interesting and different kind of setting for the story.

Three stars.
