Epic conclusion to the Second Doctor's era.

For a 10-episode story, I never felt it drug along. there was enough of a story to carry it through as a "continuing linear story" rather than a "closed off adventure" if you know what I mean.

More Philip Madoc goodness, too.

It also features the return of Bernard Horsfall in another memorable role, and look for Patrick's son, David Troughton in a brief role.

Another Second Doctor favorite of mine.

Epic, that describes this tale. Even at 10 episodes, it keeps moving, and the back story to the Doctor it creates is monumental. Time Lords! Jamie and Zoe at their best as well. The 2nd Doctor's final episode is one of the best of the entire series.

How the heck do you make a story that goes on for this long always seem fresh and engaging and exciting? No idea, but they accomplished it. It absolutely never drags. And, it's importance for the franchise can not be denied. Every single professed Doctor Who fan needs to view this in it's entirety at some point. The artful masterpiece of Bernard Horsfall, Philip Madoc, Malcolm Hulke, Terrance Dicks and Patrick Troughton at his best. It's brilliant.
