I really like Skaldak's line "Now there will be a Second Red Planet. Red with the Blood of Humanity."

Awful for me!

Far too rushed.

Could have been so much better!!

On a plus side, I didn't feel the need for the frakking awful option!!

Wow wow wow!!!!

What an amazing episode, the ice warrior was impressive, I did have my doubts when I watched the preview and heard his deep voice but I thought it worked well with the hissing noises. I am not to keen on the Dalek style back story of the ice warrior creature developing battle armor to survive... I thought they were like turtles and the armour was part of them.

When the ice warrior creature was hiding in the sub and the crew were looking for him I was having Alian flashbacks, especially when the crew were attacked from above.... could have beeen more inventiave.

I loved the scenes with Clara and the professor.... it was like watching a more mature doctor and his companion. I would love to see him take the role of the Doctor like he did for the big finish audio, I guess he won't be able to now he has been in the series.

I was going to say that but got sidetracked lol

David Warner would make an amazing Doctor, watch the scenes with him and Clara.

I always thought the opposite, that is was just armor, but not really so cyborg like. It was the only thing to make sense to me with the skinny armor-less Ice Lords.

I seriously doubt we are gonna have any more Docs that are 40+ years old. Would ruin their formula of the young female companion wanting to make time with the Doc in his snog box.

Can't have all these Nu Who fans going "Ewwwwww. He's now old and ugly"

Even though the best of the classic Docs were all 40+ when they took the roles.

I agree... and its a shame... Matt Smith dose so well not only because he is energetic but he looks a lot older than he is in the face...

Am I the only person who really likes Davison? He's tied with Pertwee for my favorite Doctor! (Troughton would be up there, too, but I've kinda disqualified him from the running -- so few of his serials have survived in full that I don't feel I can fully/fairly compare him to the others.)

David Warner was great as usual. When Speilberg was trying to launch an American Who in the 90s, he was the top pick for the Doctor. He did a voice in a cartoon with 10, but it's great to finally have him on the show proper.
Is Liam Cunningham going to be typecast as naval officers from now on?
Although it was cute that the TARDIS ran away to the opposite Pole (because it feared drowning?), there's an excellent reason why the HADS hadn't appeared since "The Krotons." It's a rubbish plot device.

I upgraded my vote this week to Good. I enjoyed this more than the last two, I wasn't having to work at not nitpicking it. As others have said, the pacing was a bit much, I think this could have been a very good two-parter.

They would've needed to add some depth to stretch this into a two pater. It can be perfectly summed up as "The Doctor & Skaldak futz around on a Russian sub whilst waiting for their rides to show up."

It was Good for me.

I was terrified that the Classic Ice Warrior look was just going to be a tease to showing them off in some silly new form. Thankfully that form was never fully seen and the head turned out better then I'd feared. I liked it.

Clara's growing on me as a companion. I like the fact unlike the majority of companions up to this point, she's willing to listen to the Doctor and follow orders without argument.

Tempted to pop in The Seeds of Death tonight after watch it.

I did the same. I also read the article in DWM about Ice Warriors. I never knew that the original designs were intended to be more obviously cybernetic. A light up sonar unit in the chest and connection to the helmet were mentioned.

That's rather amusing, since the Distress Beacon was lighting up in the Chestplate and the Helmet has connections running along the inside that connect it to the armor proper.

Let me See Clara dripping wet in Water for an entire Episode. Im hoping next week they meet the Sun Tan Oil Monster of the Pit or the Jello vampires.

On a Hot Scale she is a 10 + 10 + 10 for each life lol.

The wet look was a bonus, but I really liked the Vegas dress with the Soviet jacket Razz

You know Turlough would side with the Russians who wanted to kill the Ice Warrior. But would Tegan have known the lyrics to "Hungry Like the Wolf"? Then again, Ian seemed to know "Ticket to Ride"...

The way the "naked" Ice Warrior was presented (hands out of nowhere, glowing eyes in the dark) seems like it was written for a 1983 production budget. The story's anti-nuke elements might have been more pronounced and actually made the story "about something." Remember what Davison said about "Caves of Androzani"? Like that story, I wonder if a story like this might have made him want to stay on longer. (Like a few others here, I also like Davison.)
