As a recent Who fan I've noticed that it is quite common among Americans of roughly my own age (25-30) to be deeply enamored of The Doctor. This is slightly odd since his cultural relevance leaves out precisely that age group in England.

I do see more fans in that age group, and have had a hand in creating a few. It is odd, because that isn't too far off from the age when I first became a fan of Doctor Who in the 80s. And back then, it was the same age group that I was around that enjoyed it. So, I wonder what that says about the tastes of a British youth in their early teens vs. a young US adult! lol.
