10. Dogs of Doom

Werewolves and Daleks! How much cooler can it get? I saw this in Marvels colorised versions and that was the golden age of Who for me.

Thanks CA!

I remembered Dogs of Doom right after I had posted Star Beast and thought "why not" and it had more of a comic book feel to it.

And since I am gettin' burned out coming up with top 10 list ideas, I am passing on choosing the next one to Cruel Angel for all his great work posting pics with this topic!

Aww, thanks Very Happy

The Marvel run was important to me not just to enjoy the comic stories. Reading the backgrounds of the companions, Daleks, Cybermen... the news updates on the series... what new episodes were being put into the syndication packages... they were IT as far as my primary news and info source in those days.

Gee, I've never actually come up with a topic list before. Hmmm...

How about this-

4. The Power of Kroll - Kroll kills a crewman

A great job by the "victim" to make it look like a tentacle actually was wrapping around him and dragging him away, rather then him just wrapping himself up in the prop and leaning backwards through an opening.

5. Seeds of Doom. The Antarctica base at the beginning was one of the best miniature sets they've done - complete with tiny remote control helicopter!

8. The Dead Planet aka The Daleks

The mist over the dalek city as we see it for the first time and the inlay shot of the time travellers looking at it.
Magical!

9. The Rescue - the shot of Ian and Barbara on the cliff overlooking the crashed rocket was extremely well done for the time.

10. Robots of Death

That sandminer was TOTALLY convincing to me. And the touch of going inside the conning tower was brilliant when I saw it as a kid.

And now for something completely different........

The top ten WORST special effects shots in classic Doctor Who ( I could rattle off a list in two minutes or less)
