| And In the Process, becomes his own Father-in-Law...literally.- Quote :
David Tennant and Georgia Moffett, two off the stars of the BBC TV series Doctor Who, have become engaged and intend to marry in 2012.
Tennant, 39 - best known for playing the tenth Doctor in the BBC's long-running science-fiction drama - and Moffett, 26, have been going out together since they met on the Doctor Who set in 2008.
Moffett currently holds the distinction of playing two different companions of the Doctor in the TV series. In 2008, she played the Doctor's daughter, Jenny, in a story by Stephen Greenhorn (River City), which was called . . . The Doctor's Daughter [in which she played the Doctor's daughter. --Ed.] ...
However, her association with the series is stronger than that. She is the daughter of Peter Davison (who played the fifth Doctor from 1981 to 1984) and Sandra Dickinson (The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy). ...
According to the Sun, the pair "are making plans to wed on New Year's Day in 2012"
All I can really say is Go David! Georgia is a looker. |

Icky? I guess, if they had a child, it would be a requirement for their child to somehow be involved in Who. |

If they had a child, that'd make the Doctor both its Father and Grandfather. ... MY MIND! |

oh. Well, I don't know. I don't find it that shocking. I mean, a 23 year difference, that's a bit much, but I guess it's different for everyone. I mean, you can never really understand people's actions when you don't know them personally. |

A former coworker (Who was 30) was dating an 18 year old. They started dating when she was 17. That is Icky. This? Not that unusual in the Showbiz biz. |

| Right after my divorce I turned 40. I briefly dated a co-worker who had just turned 18. Granted, it did end after I realized I was a year older than her mother... but still. |

| Does anyone get that this is coming from THE SUN?
If it is true, I couldn't be happier for the pair. Their happiness is well-deserved.
Still, no other news has mentioned it..
...and it is THE SUN... therefore...

What's so icky about it? I say congrats to him. Some of you folks put age well out of proportion. I dated a 17 year old once in my twenties, that does not make me Michael Jackson. And I am sure some of you would not mind being with someone like Liz Sladen or Sophia Loren, I know I would not mind. |

The Sun did report it, but it's also been reported by other news companies. Just because a tabloid reports something does not automatically make it a rumor. The only bit from "The Sun" is that they want to marry New Years Day, 2012. |

I've gotten it from other comms where this information did come from The Sun. If other companies are publishing it, it still doesn't make it fact. It's all hear-say and honestly, it's hard to believe tabloids. I'll only believe it when the actors themselves confirm it. ~ |

The Telegraph Huff Po Daily Mail Hollywood Reporter & Peter Davison himself who is quoted, "It's great because David is a genuinely nice guy – and also a very fine Doctor." FTR: I'm with you where pulp tabloids are concerned (to distinguish from papers that are simply printed in tabloid format), and prefer multiple, independent sources. |

Okay, I retract my statement, though I'm still maintaining that anything coming from the tabloids is easily ignored. Then again, I'm not really that concerned with the lives of actors I like beyond knowing if they are happy, what projects they've been in and will be in. And instead of making any sort of judgment on an actor's decision on who he wishes to marry, I am going to instead just be happy for the couple and pray that they have all the happiness in the world. ~ |

No need to retract, I was just pointing to more media outlets that had released the story after you'd (I hope) gone to bed. Myself, I'm pretty picky about what news I read & where it comes from as well. Tabloids = bird cage liners here. |

Um, hard to say whether or not I went to bed before they were published. I don't actively seek news out on actors. I was watching an amazing documentry on Austria. In my opinion, tabloids are not worthy enough even for bird cage liners. ~ |
