In the series Team Knight Rider (which came out in the mid 90's) the Dr. Who episode Planet of the Spiders was mentioned. The really attractive blond girl that drove one of the TKR motorcycles was trying to pass herself as a nerd groupie. A very prominent scientist that she was trying to get close to, she had learned that his favorite Dr. Who episode was Planet of the Spiders.

The second episode of Portlandia (the "Battlestar Galactica" episode) had a fun Doctor Who mention at the very end.

They were watching Who on last night's Big Bang Theory. Penny mentioned watching TV isn't an appropriate date. Leonard asked "not even Doctor Who?", to which Penny replied "not even Doctor Who". Sheldon then banned her from going with them to this year's Who-Con.

So no one has mentioned in SPACED the comic book shop that Tim works in has a back room/office, and the door leading into it is the Tardis door? (loved that)

What SNL was a Cyberman on?

Also, in the 1987 Art of Dragonlance book, one of the painting has a bottle on a shelf that is shaped like the TARDIS.

On Big Bang Theory, there has been a large black Dalek sitting on the book shelves behind the sofa they sit on. In another New Years eve episode, Stewart from the comic book store is wearing a fourth Doctor costume for the party.
