PostSubject: Turn Left   Sat Jun 21, 2008 7:32 pm

Since I am sure most of my fellow americans wont see this until Sci-Fi shows it in a couple of weeks, I will only say

WOW!!! affraid

This kicks Utopia to the curb!

Turn Left really doesnt do it justice as far as a title goes.

The one shock moment near the beginning With Donna and 'someone' ends up being quite incidental as the story goes on.

RTD may have gotten his mojo back. And Donna is EXCELLENT in this episode. And Bernard Cribbins was GREAT as well.

The trailer for next week was amazing, especially that laugh that ended it.

Someone pointed out a connection to Utopia.... The actress that played Chantho also plays the palm reader.

I think Torchwood and SJS are noncanon , so I love pretending to not know characters in these episodes!

The ending gave hubby and I goosebumps!

It was the last epi we watched last night. Can't wait to get the kids cleaned up and in bed so we can barrel on though the S4 ender. It looks amazing!

i loved the bad wolf parts at the end, but disapointed that they didn't do anything with that in the next episode. way to go rtd. build something up, just to have it on-screen for a minute. just like you did with derek jacobi.

Seems everyone liked this episode.

Am I the only one who hates it profusely? Am I alone in spitting fire and venom at the TV when it comes on? Does no one else hope it gets wiped from existence forever? Question

I must admit it's not one of my favourites. Except the bit with the immigrant family singing Bohemian Rhapsody. That's solid gold, friends. But no, not an episode I'd rewatch outside of the context of the whole season. And very depressing in an old-school What If? sorta way. Really, I don't really like any of the "Doctor lite" episodes very much. No Doctor, no deal Razz

Fire and venom's a lot of effort for me though, I gotta get out the flamethrower, and then milk the snake for its venom, and when I'm done I need to get a new TV and... just not worth it for me. YMMV, of course Wink

Don't get mad at the TV. It's not its fault that you're disappointed with what you made it display.

I'm not a fan of "Turn Left" either. The resolution was just...cheesy. And a giant beetle...really. That was the best they could come up with? A giant beetle.

The rabbit kept pooping, albino that is why they went with the beetle

i thought the giant beetle was a throwback to "classic" who. they used to have giant spiders, giant bugs, giant aliens(none of which looked terribly real), so the giant non-cgi beetle i thought was good. as far as the ending being cheesy, do you mean the bad wolf ending, or the ending in which donna has to kill herself to save herself?

You probably saw someone's custom figure where they bought a toy beetle. Those things are readily available.

Both. The biggest thing for me with the "Donna Has to Kill Herself" bit was that while she died to prevent her past self from turning the wrong way, she was immediately resurrected and remembered (if briefly) what happened.
