These came out quite awhile back and I think they are neat. Wish we could get season sets, but for anyone with a region free player these would be nice

I really love the back graphics, the spine and cover would have to be more like the Key to Time box set to get me to purchase them

Also I saw this and was sorely tempted to buy it as I have not seen this particular Actor's version of the Doctor. Ha!

Interesting.  Ever since 2013 when the R1 DVDs were going out of print, I was wondering if they would shift to releasing season sets in the US, UK, etc.

At this point, though, I've bought too many single story releases to be interested in season sets.  Unless they re-remaster them and release on Blu-ray discs with all the special features.  I don't care what anyone says, nothing can look its best on DVD with its inherent pixellated, grainy quality.  I'd rather watch old, standard def video transferred to BR than on DVD.

I started with episodic broadcasts, then when I started watching them broadcast outta Chicago as movies I preferred that way. If they release them as season sets I would like to see them as movie editions. That way we can still have both versions.

Yeah, season boxsets with that option could be interesting on Blu Ray

What an excellent Idea, A Movie version edit would be great. Especially if they created an opening menu like that on the Spearhead Blu-ray.

At this point, boxset re-releases are just a pipe dream. If they had reached the end of the range 5-10 years ago with most things being OOP, then maybe it would've been a possibility, but now, I'm sure they are just going to push people to streaming (at least, as far as the USA goes). Especially if they ever launch a US-friendly version of their BBC Store service.

I don't think a blu-ray version would've ever happened anyway, given that this is all standard-def content and slapping it all on blu would possibly create confusion. SD on BD is very rare Stateside. I think only Germany really tried much with it, and I know there were several complaints (at least online) from disgruntled customers who bought stuff like Buck Rogers in the 25th Century on blu expecting it to be HD, only to discover it was SD.

Again, any kind of boxset re-releases over here of any kind are highly unlikely at this point.

Yeah, I also found out the other day that the BBC put Underwater Menance on iTunes last year with about all of the extras. It's possible they may put the stories on there like that at a lower cost. They mentioned it so little though I'm not sure Underwater Menace did well on there.
