Another site has the set up for an August pre order at $124.99

Nice if WhoNA could beat it by a bit making these under $10 a piece.

The site that has it for 124.99 usually is a little bit more expensive than whona.

I will wait to purchase it here. But I will scout it out elsewhere to see if there are better pictures available with less glare.

Hey, if you have this set is there any chance of you posting some close ups so we all can get a better look?

OH, to clarify, I just bought this set from a new friend, whom purchased a dozen from SDCC, as she's a dealer. If I can remember, when I get it, I shall.

I believe the Pertwee coat is the "Three Doctors" one, because of the rusty looking color of the jacket and the three frogs on the coat, not two, which the red jacket had.  I know that there are no frogs on the cuffs, but this is close as they probably can get with the existing figure.

Yes, you are correct, Three Doctors version.  It should also have a raised back collar for that episode, but I doubt they could have done that without a new mold.  The Daemons version had two frogs on the front.

My customs:

Another site, which has the set up for pre-order, says august 1st is the expected arrival date.

@ ronpur, loving the Pertwee customs.
@ mattmanw54301, does that site have a better close up photo of the set?

I NEVER would have expected to see the price soooo cheap, ESPECIALLY for them! And I went and bought it for $150 total!

Once we add shipping and handling the price difference between our set and yours will be negligible, plus yours was hand selected so less chance of defect...and you will get yours first...plus yours will come with a sdcc sticker😀

I wish Whona did preorders more often. As much as I love these figures, I don't remember to check here all that often and sometimes miss out. The recent 3rd Doctor set was so convenient that way.

PostSubject: Re: UT 13 Doctor's Set   Fri Jul 29, 2016 5:25 pm

Years ago when several forum members asked for pre-orders one reason not to do them was that Underground Toys wasn't always very good at delivering the correct quantities.  WhoNA was afraid they'd get 120 pre-orders and then only have 40 units arrive.  I was visiting the WhoNA shop the day the 11th/Clara set arrived and they only got 25 sets instead of 250.  Somebody at UT had made a typo!  Sometimes shipments arrive with no notification or the truck driver arrives a day early or a day late.

But they are doing more pre-orders these days.  They may even do the 13 Doctors set as a pre-order once they get better confirmation on what should be arriving.

I've got the Quick Toy Announcement Thread set to be monitored so that I get an e-mail at work whenever new toys arrive.  Since WhoNA is the only one who can post in that locked thread it's not a lot of spam, only good news.

I'll do that too! Thanks for the tip! The explanation too. I can see why they would be cautious with preorders now.

If this set was indeed sold at SDCC, how come we've seen no one post any photos of it, either here or on the other forums? Come on people! bounce

As a multiple-time attendee of SDCC (and about 100 other cons), I'll tell you why: Attending SDCC is EXHAUSTING. The next week or two tends to result in a coma-like state of torpor in which even posting pictures sounds bloody exhausting. Smile

Mine has just been sent from NY, and that's after she got back from SDCC. When I get it, I will post.
