Disappointing that it's the same 10th articulation yet again, and 11 looks to not have the ball jointed shoulders that the later versions have... Could be wrong on that though. If I am wrong, the shirt stripes are new to the ball jointed shoulder version of the figure which is cool.

I do like the new takes on the older doctors quite a bit.
The War Doctor in black is....odd, if that color is correct from the photo.

I'm not sure if 12 is just the black shirt version, or maybe (hopefully) he's wearing the hole-y black jumper.

Looks like it's the same 5 & 7 from the last 11 Doctor's set. I personally would have hoped for maybe versions of them wearing hats or some kind of variation.

Regardless, I'll be buying.

AWESOME! Most excited for 1, 3, 6 and 8! Gorgeous figures!

Pity they haven't done anything new with the NuWho Docs, apart from the War Doc, but I would have hoped for a young version of him even more. Nice to see that his colour scheme is a little more screen accurate to the episode, though!

Looking forward to this! cheers

Ed, the sculptor is telling us on another forum that all the figures are variants. They all have a new deco treatment, even those which look the same on the picture (like 4th, 11th and 12th)

Apparently it is being sold there at SDCC right now. Any chance Who North America will be getting any to sell afterwards?

Um underground toys just tweeted that it is (or implied it is) an SDCC exclusive Sad

http://twitter.com/utusatoys/status/756200069616074752

Maybe they mean exclusive to them opposed to exclusive to show?

I've read multiple posts saying it's an exclusive First to Sell and that there would be a general release later. However, Whona used to get the some of the surplus SDCC exclusives after the show. Maybe it is possible again. These seem to be something that would be an easy sell.

Typical. When I saw the limited number, I knew it. Since the first set barely sold, this is their REVENGE! I just got the 1st set at Movie Stop (out of business) for 70% off! I could not pass on a $30 set. As these are each tweaked slightly, I really just want 3rd and 6th.

Edmund Barnett-Ward who worked on these figures at affable was kind enough to provide some descriptions/insight into the new boxset.
(copied from his post)
First Doctor - The Web Planet
For the first Doctor I did a new version of the costume in golden/sepia tones. The guiding principal for the whole set was to use more natural tones and not make the figures so high contrast. There is almost no black anywhere in the set - very dark brown, very dark blue, loads of washes and shades of grey. There just aren't a wealth of colour pictures of the first Doctor so the colour palette was arrived at tonally.
Second Doctor - The Two Doctors
Bluish grey shirt, greenish grey tartan trousers and yes, grey hair.
Third Doctor - The Time Monster
Beautiful russet red jacket with fleur de lis, deep brown trouser lighter hair.
Fourth Doctor - Logopolis
This is a more 'as seen on screen' version of the S18 costume, the red in scarf is less orange, the burgundy a deeper shade, the shirt is a bone white, not a pure white.
Fifth Doctor - The Awakening
All new treatment of the costume. Grubbier shoes, not so bright.
Sixth Doctor - Real Time
The fourteen-shades-of-blue version of his costume as seen on Big Finish covers.
Seventh Doctor - Ghost Light
All new treatment of the tartan trousers.
Eighth Doctor - Night
of the Doctor
Post crash bloodied face and dirty outfit.
War Doctor -Day of the Doctor
Revised darker version of the costume. Gaiters are more like greenish canvas now. Other colours tweaked. Darker grey in the beard.
Ninth Doctor - The Parting of the Ways
Dark purple t-shirt. Trousers dark grey, not black, shoes dark brown not black.
Tenth Doctor - The Shakespeare Code
All colours re-interpreted. Grubbier shoes, darker coat different blue for the pinstripes.
Eleventh Doctor - The Beast Below
All new colour treatment, new base tone for the tweed with a new wash over it. Shoes show wear on the toes, grey not black trousers. New interpretation of the grey shirt with the red striped pattern.
Twelfth Doctor - Time Heist
Very dark blue shirt.

I think this is a cool set!  $150 for 13 Doctors is pretty good.  $11.50 a figure is better than normal.

I still can't see the difference on a couple figures (oh, Fifth Doctor, why so many repaints!), but I'm sure that once they are "in-hand" it will be a fine looking set.

If it's at all possible to get this set I'm sure WhoNA will be one of the few getting it. The SDCC exclusives often take a few weeks to show up after SDCC.

I may get this. But I only want it for a few of the figures. As others have said, there are still other variants we could have gotten that would have really made this set pop. 1st Doctor with a cowboy hat, despite many disliking the story "The Gunfighters," it would have looked neat. 5th Doctor with the floral sort of vest from "Planet of Fire." Use the existing 4th Doctor vest if need be. No update to the 10th Doctor figure after 10 years... and still no tuxedo 10??

I don't get the "no black used at all" idea -- especially if a piece of clothing actually is black. I guess that's why we're not getting tuxedo 10 in this set Wink

I'm pretty sure he's wearing the purple coat in that, but they desaturated all the color and sepia shifted the lighting color of the footage.

Long green coat 11th (with and without Stetson) is on my custom to do list Cool (which would be a variant I would hope for if they were not doing just repaints)

With them doing a Two Doctors Troughton, it is a bit of a shame they didnt do the Sixth like that also, or at the least his other Trial of a Timelord outfit.

I will sell of the Real Time 6th as soon as I am done taking photos of it.
