David Bowie has died at the age of 69 from cancer.  Sad

Devastated. Speechless.

Inconsolable.

Christmas might have been a few weeks ago, but this has always been a favorite of mine.

Blackstar has become Bowie's first number 1 album in the U.S.

This song and video still haunt me...

LAZARUS
(Bowie)

Look up here, I'm in heaven
I've got scars that can't be seen
I've got drama, can't be stolen
Everybody knows me now

Look up here, man, I'm in danger
I've got nothing left to lose
I'm so high it makes my brain whirl
Dropped my cell phone down below

Ain't that just like me

By the time I got to New York
I was living like a king
Then I used up all my money
I was looking for your ass

This way or no way
You know, I'll be free
Just like that bluebird
Now ain't that just like me

Oh I'll be free
Just like that bluebird
Oh I'll be free
Ain't that just like me

This was absolutely stunning...

The tributes from Annie Lennox and Gary Oldman were moving enough (big hugs to Annie), but the performance had me in tears, it was so beautiful.

I found this interesting...

...there's a hidden surprise in the LP packaging if exposed to light...

I've been listening to the Lazarus (Original Cast Recording) CD all week...very interesting stuff.  Michael C. Hall's singing voice is nothing like I expected.

The three "new" Bowie songs, which the cast performs too, are pretty good too.

This cast recording was made the day after Bowie passed away...which is just a remarkable coincidence.  The date was arranged long in advance.
