Here are a couple of teaser pics of my sonic screwdriver. I'm going for a combination of classic sonic, combined with new, as well as the concept art and a touch of steampunk. I used the body from the toy, but the rest is all scratch built by me, using aluminum, brass, stainless, and nylon. It's not finished yet, so here are just a couple pics showing SOME of the detail.

Hmmm, you can't see the slider, the extending neck or the end cap details in these pics? Well, maybe on the next ones! :ohbaby

That's awesome! Looks way better than the new one they designed for Matt Smith.

Can you make me one? Smile

I'm not even finished yet! Laughing

Thank you for the very kind words!

I'm sure this will be available in the near future! Rolling Eyes

I plan to make a few, but no two exactly the same.

Meant every word. It's a brilliant concept and I simply must have one Smile
Will these have the guts of the CO sonic in them for light and sound?

It will have light, the sound however is quite a bit harder. The toy utilizes the head for the speaker, which of course is not an option on mine. Putting the speaker in the body could work, but you would be faced with a wire situation of the constant movement when extending and retracting the neck. It would be prone to breaking.

That's super-cool! The tongues kind of remind me of the Master's old tissue compression eliminator, too.

Here she is all finished up! Has a blue LED in the tip and it looks AWESOME! Problem is, it QUIT working when assembled! It's just too difficult to get a good free flowing extending neck with a battery dangling off of the end. I'll try something different on my second version.

Anyway, here she is...

Version two is on the work bench!

I'm going to lean more towards the steam punk on it's build.

I sorta said it in jest. I did get one in the mail this week, but it was a poor imitation, fortunately, I also got the novels with it. The blakes 7 site has shots of them, and I do have the tech manuals.

With all the upcoming figures, I wouldnt be able to afford a proper one. And I was interested in the Liberator model.

Well, I'm not that familiar with Blake's 7. I would need pictures of the particular one. But a quick google search showed me a couple of versions. Neither one would be overly difficult to make. The silver one would be harder to find the wrist band for...

Well, here are my revisions to this already marvelous prop:

I extended the tail to allow more battery room, and the hose clamp holds it very securely to the body. Basically, it functions as the screen used prop. The switch slides with the neck. If I had another acrylic tube, I would probably mount the switch more securely, but the epoxy is holding quite well so far. Smile
