Fresh from the Rift!

Torchwood may be off the air right now following the thrilling climax to series two, but you can still get your regular fix of the groundbreaking show with Torchwood magazine. In the new issue, we talk to Gareth David-Lloyd about his much loved character Ianto (see right), lead writer Chris Chibnall tells us about Fragments, the action-packed comic strip Rift War continues (see below), and much more!

Chris Chibnall on Fragments

Torchwood lead writer Chris Chibnall pieced together the team's fractured lives for the epic flashback episode, Fragments. In this issue, he tells us how he went about it: “Fragments is all about characters who are constantly shifting with their circumstances, and conflicted about who they are. It's about the contradictory nature of life, and the surprises that it flings at you. I really like that about Jack especially, and I think it makes him far more heroic that he was once a much more roguish character.”

Rift War: Part Two

‘Rift War’ – a brand new Torchwood comic strip by Simon Furman and Paul Grist – continues in the new issue of Torchwood magazine.

Also in this issue, the authors of the latest Torchwood novels talk to Torchwood magazine: Gary Russell on ‘The Twilight Streets’, Trevor Baxendale on ‘Something In The Water’, and David Llewellyn on ‘Trace Memory.’

The Fashion Hub

For Torchwood Costume Designer Ray Holman – winner of this year’s Bafta Cymru for best costume – saving the world in style is always top priority. In the new issue of Torchwood magazine, we ask him what the hottest heroes are wearing. On Captain Jack: "We always wanted to keep the World War Two hero look for him, so all his outfits have a 1940s flavour. We knew he'd be running around a lot, so I redesigned his RAF Group Captain's greatcoat from Doctor Who to make it more fluid, because the real things are very weighty.”
