OK I'm an idiot for posting this in the wrong place before. But an evil genius never the less!

I just got the gold 12" Dalek by Character Options (Love it) and I want to give it the treatment that Davros might. The motors are LOUD so I want to replace them with quieter motors (maybe from here

after that I think I can improve the paint job a little. There should be lots of space inside that little beast, plenty of room for more gadgets. Has anyone else popped these open and hacked up the insides? I'd love to know what you learned.

Thinking about modding one, but apart from removing the base plate (held in by six screws) they seem to be well glued together and not intended for dismantling for repainting etc. The wires feeding up to the lights are quite short and would need to be extended to obtain adequate access to the printed circuit board and motors.

WARNING
If you remove the the base you will have to reinstall the output shaft that "feeds" rotational movement to the rotating head and eye correctly.
