Think 2001 or Silent Running as this film is essentially a one-man show in that he is on a moonbase on a three-year mining tour with only a robot as company. I suspect it'll lose more than a few Galactica fans, despite the strong through-line of ideas connecting the two - it hasn't gone into space even once yet, and stuff doesn't blow up in every episode. I have to say, I really, really loved it. I loved it for everything it is, while freely acknowledging that there are many things it is not. First of all - what it is. It's a grand old adventure yarn.
