Just found out earlier today that both Heroes and Fast Forward have been cancelled.

Even though I jumped on late I really liked Heroes for a while, but I couldn't help but see it as a cheap X-Men knockoff. In matter of fact I would find myself wondering about other fans who would act like they never heard of the X-Men before.

Fast Foward I never watched although I heard it was quite good. Even a friend of mine was trying to get me to watch it and filled me in on some of the details. ...

I have been watching the first season and I am enjoying it.

This was a series from 1999, and is about 3 teens who know they are actually aliens (they have odd powers, ranging from manipulating molecular structures to seeing visions from touching objects), and they are both hiding from the government & military, while trying to make friends and learn of their own origins. Trying to find seasons 2 and 3 right now.

Okay, I have been watching through Supernatural for the first time, and caught the season 2 episode, "Nightshifter."

What was interesting is that one of the characters holds up a copy of "Fortean Times," issue 209 with a Cyberman on the cover. I noticed it because we brought it in for sale in the US.

I don't know of any other US-based Doctor Who retailers who carried this issue, so there is a very real possibility this very issue came from us.

Can anyone confirm this?

Starring Sam Rockwell and directed by Duncan Jones (David Bowie's son). This is a fantastic film. Character-driven and shot beautifully using actual model miniatures and lighting, this film is a thoughtful, serious drama rather than the unrealistic CGI-effects brain candy we usually get. Think 2001 or Silent Running as this film is essentially a one-man show in that he is on a moonbase on a three-year mining tour with only a robot as company. Best pure sci-fi drama I've seen in years. Rent ...

I already own the previous standard release, but this might be a rare time to double dip, depending on reviews.

I live in the US, naturally, and I was wondering if there was a way to get some of the "Primeval" toys? I'm looking mainly for Claudia Brown, Abby Maitland, Connor Temple, and Nick Cutter. I'd love the Deinonychus, but that might be asking a bit too much.

I know that there is a seller on Ebay who has a bunch of the Primeval figures available for US buyers. But I have two problems with that.

1) they're from China and shipping takes forever

2) I have trouble believing that their ...

Not really sci-fi, but I have been rewatching this, and forgot how great it is. A fairly accurate telling of what happened so many years ago. Makes me kind of sad as NASA now gets out of the flying of astronauts into what ever they are supposed to be doing. Then again, even the shuttle was never this dramatic or exciting.

In fact Cosgrove Hall the studio that made these, were responsible for not only Scream of the Shalka (on my 'to watch' list) but the magnificent recreations of the missing episodes of The Invasion!

In fact, a couple of times Doctor Who was indeed referenced on Danger Mouse.

I was shocked to see no mention of this show with all of the other remake talk lately. Did anyone even bother?

As promising as the possibilities seemed on paper for a modern revisitation of the themes of The Prisoner, this version just flat-out blew. It was as if the writer's sum total knowledge of McGoohan's original was from an article he'd read on the subject a few years back. Giving the new #6 amnesia was also a huge mistake: it robbed him of the barely-contained indignant rage of the ...

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but am I the only one to feel this way?

For anyone who hasnt seen this yet, it is THE ultimate set. Would be great if Doctor Who would have something like this for say Trial of a Timelord. Have a mini timelord space station and a cat badge with a art card set of the book and video covers.

There are 5 discs that contain FIVE versions of the film!, I am still working through them. I am saving Ridley's Final Cut until last.

the humour aspect was overdone at times, especially with sam rockwell's character. rourke looked bored in his villain role. on the plus side robert downey jr. was great again as tony stark and i liked don cheadle as rhodey. the highlight ...

If you're like me, you love giant robots. If you enjoy giant robot fisticuffs, then you'll probably dig my review of the live action Tetsujin 28 movie. Some American fans might remember Tetsujin as he was in the 1960's here in the states by the name, GIGANTOR! This live action film certainly harkens back to that classic TV show, but adds in some new elements as well. It's from 2005 and I give you the need to know details on if you'll enjoy this flick or not. Check it out!

I suspect it'll lose more than a few Galactica fans, despite the strong through-line of ideas connecting the two - it hasn't gone into space even once yet, and stuff doesn't blow up in every episode. It's going to be a slow-build show, and I'm not sure people have enough patience for that. I doubt it'll be around more than a season.

The opening titles may be the best TV title sequence to come down the pike since the '90s. Very artsy, and yet it sets up the characters ...

Saw this today on IMAX 3D. I have to say, I really, really loved it.

I loved it for everything it is, while freely acknowledging that there are many things it is not.

First of all - what it is. It's a grand old adventure yarn. I use the word "yarn" deliberately because in some ways the story feels like it belongs in a different era. It's has a very pulpy, boy's fiction feel to it. This should not be construed as a criticism. Some of the best movie entertainment ...

I'm not sure if they're going to ruin the fun of Stargate by forcing in the grittiness of BSG or if they're going to fix BSG (for me) by sprinkling on a little Stargate. I liked the pilot, but couldn't really get a grip for what the show would actually be like week-to-week.
