Updated July 31st

Hey everyone!

There is a pretty big Doctor Who 1:6 group over at Side Show Freaks Forums (please come join us!).

http://sideshowcollectors.com/forums/group.php?groupid=61

We've gotten talented Character Options artist Sean Dabbs to make us two different 1:6 Patrick Troughton heads, one serious, one scared, with the hopes if they do well enough to also make a 1:6 Jamie, Zoe, and Tobias Vaughn! I think Sean just rocked on them and I hope everybody is happy with ...

As promised, here is a build diary for my 1:13 scale 1996 Television Movie console.

The first time I laid eyes on the blueprints illustrated in the book Doctor Who: Regeneration I thought they could be useful. When Character Options began producing the classic line of figures I instantly knew what I had to do: build a playset! I started with the best of intentions, but the project soon found itself pushed aside and all but abandoned. That is until an 8th Doctor figure was confirmed. ...

I Wanted to show off my new custom sonic. She is all metal, I used aluminum for the body and halo. I used brass finish washers and brass bar stock to build the head. I used plumber's putty to hold the washers together, which also let me drill into them to add the rod. I used a clear plastic ball for the emitter. There are various bits such as springs and lock pins in the construction. I used a copper tube inside the plastic tube for the neck to hide the wires, also I used gears from an ...

Hey Guys!

Please see below for some shots of my custom TARDIS Console as seen during the Pertwee era. I chose this version as it is my particular favourite. It is scaled to the CO Action Figures.

This particular configuration was seen during Season 10 of the show as the specific arrangement of the controls changed in each season. There are many more graphics added to the console during Season 9 & 10, presumably to "busy" some of the panels up...

it is made of aluminum and brass. it is spring loaded so that the center shaft can be pulled down like Tom's could.

I'm in the process of working on a Six costume for Dragon*Con, and I have two approaches before me. One involves helping a friend (who is a seamstress) scour around for fabrics and do the coat ourselves. The second would involve ordering a custom Six from honestdragonchina. The time crunch may necessitate going the latter route, at least for the time being. We'll see.

Regardless of which way it goes, I decided to sketch out the coat, using some frock-coat design sketches for reference. I then ...

Hello Everyone,

If you think you can build a custom Tardis console for your favorite Doctor action figure but lack plans please email me. Doctor Who Magazine did a Tardis Winter Special in 1989 and I dug out the issue and scanned all the Tardis Console plans they published. These plans were not made to scale but illustrate the proportions of the different console units and placement of the instrumentation. It should be a simple matter to figure out what size to make these for your 5 inch and ...

I build this for a GI Joe custom contest (joeuniverse.com). I decided it might be kind of cool to do an Alternate reality 3rd Doctor where he was exiled to the US instead of Britain. Thusly, he becomes the scientific adviser to GI Joe instead of UNIT. He encounters a brilliant scientist who uses alien technology to build his chair, and an army of cybernetic men which he plans to use to conquer all of creation.

Here she is all finished and pretty. I took some artistic liberties to make her look prettier. For instance, the inner finger grip rings in black, the cowl detail, not too much. She's not perfect by any means. Not symmetrical on both sides, not all of the cuts are straight. But she is METAL, hand made, and largely hardware!

Wadda'ya think?

I am sure that all of you are familar with the Doctor Who toys made by DAPOL. Even though many of them were not accurate, it was still Doctor Who, and one of the things which kept on going.

I mean, during the period when Doctor Who was off the air for a while, like the books and magazines, these toys kept the flame of Whovian fandom popularity burning for a long while.

Upon the year of 2001 when the BBC didn't renew the license for DAPOL to make any more Doctor ...

Materials:

*Captain Jack Harkness

*Black paint

1.Remove the arms of the Doctor, and detatch the coat

2.Paint coat black, then wait for it to dry

3.Paint Jack's pants black, wait for it to dry

4.Put coat on Jack

While not 100% complete. The outside construction is pretty close. I'm swapping the light in the lantern with a blue led. In addition I'll be attempting to scratch rig sound and light so that it acts like the CO bank or flight control TARDIS. I'll post a better picture once my wife returns the digital! Until then, here is my shoddy camera phone...

custom heads in character options scale?

First, I doubt I'm the only one who would like to make figures of the other Doctors and characters to go along with the C.O. stuff.

Second, I don't have the skill or ability to sculpt or make heads.

I know figure customizers working in larger scales make heads and

sell them to other collectors/customizers. As far as the legallity of

this goes it's my understanding that it is ok as long as the itmes are not presented as official merchandise, produced in small numbers and any profit ...

The other day I received the two Auton twin packs I ordered. I planned to keep one set as is and do some repainting on the other

set to build up an army of Autons. Anyway, I was looking and the

figures and realized they would make a good base for a custom

Sylvester McCoy figure. I need to check through my spare parts

containers but I may have a head and hands that will work. The

major part of the custom would be making an umbrella and a hat

but I think easy solutions can be found. ...

Hello Everyone,

I know that to most of the Doctor Who fans out there (including me), the new toys made by CHARACTER OPTIONS based off the New Series are the hottest thing right now. In fact, I am hoping to start my own collection on those.

However, even though most of the toys made by DAPOL are not as articulate & accurate as those ones (by Character), I still like them, especially the Daleks. As it is, my own personal collection is really huge (but I'm sure that someone out there ...
