| 410: Midnight
Please keep in mind that that this episode has already aired in the UK. This thread will probably contain LOTS of spoilers. If you don't want to ruin the fun, you may want to come back once the episode airs on SciFi in a few weeks. _________________ I'm the Doctor. I'm a Timelord. | | Wow one of the best scripts of RTD...very hitchcock this...what great tension and drama. It also reminded me of the great movie 12 angry men...but in space. This is one of my favorites from series 4- much much better than his voyage of the damned. The great saying less is more applies here- very simple, stark and utterly brilliant. |

| | They could subtitle it The Doctors Son, David Troughton plays the professor, no need to say who he is related to. |

| | It was very good, there was an eerie atomsphere around the episode, I sort of figured out what was going on not long before the characters did! Brilliant performance by Lesley Sharp, she was very creepy! I love the bit when the Doctor is saying random words and she's copying. This is probably this year's Blink, except it wasn't much 'hide-behing-the-sofa' as Blink was, Blink was a lot more creepy, and I liked the way the Doctor didn't know what it was and he was powerless. |

| This was a really good episode. Donna's absence explained away in a few exchanged lines with the Doctor, a quick understanding of where we are and why we're with these people. All well constructed and the most amazing thing to come out of this episode is the afterward realization that they got away with about 4 sets and the rest cgi. This may not have been a behind the sofa ep, but it was pretty damn close. The moment she spoke first was an OMG moment for me. Kudo's to Tennant for pulling off a great performance, not often you can feel the Doctor's terror. I didn't catch her name, so thanks to Doc Olly for posting it, but Lesley Sharp should be nominated for her performance. Learning all of her lines and everyone else's, truly awesome. _________________ I'm the Doctor. I'm a Timelord. I'm from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborous. | I really liked it. Probably my favorite RTD script yet (he's a bit too random for me at times). The only thing that kept it back for me was that the climax felt a little underwhelming. It's really interesting to see the Doctor deal with a challenge by himself. Here's hoping that the companion-lite tradition continues.
Now, next week... :-) |

| oh my just saw this one again...this has got to be my favorite episode of series 4...still got the goosebumps second time around. This is great acting and a story...not flash flash bang bang quick cuts...this is a study of terror and how ugly people can get when under pressure. |

| | I thought this was an amazing episode -- scary, psychological thriller -- wonderfully disturbing! |

| | I enjoyed this episode. The DW Confidential on this episode focused on how each of the actors had to tape their dialogues individually to match what was recorded on film and with Lesley Sharp having to be in sync with what everyone was saying, I can believe it. |
