Just a quick thought...Anyone notice that the Editor could make a really good classic series Master figure if his hair/beard was painted black? Just a thought.

I think the (Cassandra) moniker means that the Rose figure is actually supposed to represent Rose while possessed by Cassandra. Pretty much what I think we all assumed that the pack was supposed to mean, but never actually had any confirmation of it (until now that is - assuming that is what it means!). And just out of curiosity, is the 2 Pack being solicited that way or is that Keith's descriptor? After all, we know how the Brits have to modify things for us dumb & shallow Americans...afterall, good thing the US release was called "Harry Potter and the SORCEROR's Stone" because no one would have dared purchased such a dull-sounding title as a Philosopher's Stone! LOL!!!! :-)

(And totally kidding of course...well, actually not - probably wouldn't have sold as well with the original title! And for all I know the US Distributor may have asked for the change - LOL!). :-)

And can I just say I'm going to go insane waiting the next couple months!!!! I'm so impatient - I want the new figures NOW! In fact, I want all that figures that will ever be made on my display shelves last week! :-)
But then of course I'd just complain that I had no figurs left to collect! LOL! We really never can be satisfied! :-) :-) :-)
Thanks WhoNA!!!! Can't wait for the new figures!!!! :-)

Added later - Yes, good call on the Editor!!! I'm sure the Editor is going to end up as the base figure for many a custom, but a classic Master sounds fantastic! :-) I don't know if anyone recalls this, but when the John Simm as the Master rumors first started to swirl about, a pic of Simm turned up with him sporting a goatee!!!! Lots of people were convinced hat was his "Master" look - and I have to admit I was a bit disappointed that he *didn't* have the goatee when John Simm did indeed turn up as the Master!
Personally I think he should have kept it...I mean obviously a lot of physiology changes with regeneration, but the Master always had a goatee as far as we saw (now that I think about it...did Delgado sport a beard or a goatee? I swear I have to check!)...minus the withered skeletal version, and of course minus "Bruce" in the TV Movie (my personal theory is he just didn't have time to grow one <grin>). But just as the Doctor never *grew* facial hair (and I'm definitely excluding the Cushing Doctor here as should be the case!), so I feel the Master should have retained it. One of those concessions to "the more things change, the more they stay the same" type deals! :-) There's just something about a goatee (must be some deep subconscious cultural archetype or something) that gives someone a couple bonus points in the "suave villany" range - and I have no doubt a goateed Simm would have resonated a bit better with audiences as it would have given an oh-so-subtle variance from "campiness" to the "charmingly diabolical" swing of the pendulum! :-)
And WhoNA - I think you just came up with the first official WHoNA Custom Figure Contest!!! :-) A Great way to keep people coming to the site and hopefully helping sell some additional figures for customization! :-) And to get some free advertising as well! :-)

Here! Here! I'm still hoping we see him in the future with the goatee.

I have to admit, I was really disappointed with RTD's interpretation of The Master. I know he doesn't really care for the character, and I just don't think he had a real handle on how The Master should have been portrayed. I wasn't terribly impressed with John Simm, either. I think Mark Gatiss would have been superb in the role. Anybody ever listen to Sympathy for the Devil?

I thought Simm did a decent job, and it was nice to see the Master with a huge plan that he actually pulls off until the Doctor's/RTD's bit of deus ex machina. Simm was a bit OTT at times, but no where near as hammy as Ainely was.

And Delgado simply is the Master.

So let's see the Rani.

And now I begin holding my breath until April.

I really liked Simm and hope he comes back as the Master. I'm glad he didn't have the goatee. We didn't need a clone. But...

What about Derek Jacobi?

He was superb as the Master! Granted he didn't get much airtime to actually play the Master, but what he did made a real impact that's for sure. I'll never forget applauding like a giddy fanboy when he revealed to Chantho who he truly was. "I am the Master". That was a classsic moment.

The Editors head, the Ood body, a minor repaint and you have a pretty nice Delgado Master. Twisted Evil

good call with the ood body, still as fun as custom repainted figures are I find they never look right next to the rest, which is why I stopped. I would love to find a paint that works just like the toy companies paint. mat finish or gloss depending on the part and one that will take dropping it on a concrete floor to make it come off.

Are the Screaming Angels and the new color Scarecrow being passed over, or are they from a separeate solicitation? Question

Regadless, it's time to start saving some money because most of that list is good for me.

ESPECIALLY the FOB watch! Very Happy

Oh, I agree with you here 150%! Jacobi was outstanding! He may have been an 'old man', but that made him no less lethal. Seriously, the look in his eyes alone could make a person die of fright.

I think Simm had a lot of potential, but wasn't given the best script to work with.

I knew once I bought Rose/Chip for $$$ from overseas that they would finally be released in the States. It never fails!!! LOL!!! I think I even posted somewhere that as sure as I shelled out moola that they'd finally be showing up soon for regular price and therefore it was my gift to fellow Who Fans - and voila!!!! :-)

And no, I'm not bitter at all, totally glad it's coming, especially as I can think of a few customs for both (a couple Chips could easily be turned into Cassandra's Surgeons from "End of the World" - with Moisturizer Accessory of course!). :-) And I know a bunch of people on OG still need Chip as well, so I expect WhoNA will get a bunch of overseas orders as well (unless it being solicited to the US means it'll also be up for re-release in GB again as well).

So now that just leaves S3 Hame and the original Assault Dalek as the only figures that have not yet shipped in the US, right? (and yes, I know the newest releases haven't - but I'm not counting them as they aren't actually overdue yet). Oh wait - also the rusty Cassandra variant of course!!! My guess is they may not re-release Chip and Cassandra after doing Rose and CHip again - but then again I give up trying to undestand these distribution methods! :-) I want rusty Cassandra of course and wil buy her if ever released here, but for now I'm fine with just getting a regular one and customizing a few rusty paint splotches. :-) Actually, I did just read on OG that Cassandra was being listed in an upcoming batch of new figures for 2008 - guessing she's just a repack (like Moxx) tucked in with the new figures - but wouldn't it be cool if they released the rusty version carded singly? That'd be cool!!! :-)

Anyway, can't wait for the new figures!!!! :-)

There are two eye color variants of rusty Cassandra, both never released over here. Also, the single carded versions of the Cyber Controller, two different eye color variants as well. In addition, the very first version of Rose before she was given a paint upgrade was originally released in one of the 3 versions of the Dalek Battle Packs.
