I am so excited over these. The build figure, which I usually think of as a cheesey sales tactic, is a good idea for boosting sales here, especially if it's a good one, (how about the Kandyman?). lol

Anyway, sign me up!

No 3rd Dr? I like more of these than wave 1, and though I like the build-a-figure, it's gonna be a pick and choose (then sell) situation (BIG TIME)!

They are waiting for sculpture approval for the Third Doctor, as for the Build a figure I guess it depends on what we are building.

Companions were never in the cards due to the pain of actor/estate approval and rights issues. At least for now. I suppose if it sells like gangbusters we might have a chance.

I've even more excited about this wave than the first.

I've wanted an 8th Doctor figure for ages and I like the villain line-up in this wave better.

I was thinking a Mechanoid, but if CO can get the rights to the comics, then add Death's Head, the original Dalek Emperor.... Would love to see Abslom Daak as a figure.

Hmmm, "Power of the Daleks" Emperor Dalek playset. Sorry, another "song" in my head!

Just watched the last parts of city of death last night on public tv in cincy. I had completly forgotten that it was the explosion of the jaggaroth ship that made all life on earth possible....and that John Cleese made a cameo appearance.

I think it would make perfect sense to make the Build a Figure for Wave II the Morbius Monster! It's just so fitting thematically! :-) "This figure comes with a Mutant's Claw, that figures comes with the perspex brain bubble and this one comes with poor Condo's arm!" :-)

Seriously though, I am Hyper-Excited over the Classic Line. It's one of the handful of things I'd pick that I dreamed, prayed, wished, begged for more than anything else - Doctor Who Action Figures! I still remember trying to paint and add capes and general "kit bashing" figures together to make Doctor Who figures..I remember the Black Bespin Guard made a great Tegan - his outfit and hat resembled the Air Stewardess cosutme quite well (after adding a skirt and painting it purple, his skin peach and of course adding a touch of auburn for hair curls!), and perhaps most resourceful of all, one of the Dagobah Playset's cargo boxes r crates or whatever they were (the little silver rectanguar boxes that Luke could "levitate) became a quite fetching <grin> K9! LOL!!! :-) And I made SOnic Screwdrivers out of toy car motors and various odds and ends from my Dad's tool box - tire pressure gauges were almost always the main cylinder for the body! :-)

ANyway, these look fantastic - August can't get here soon enough (or rather THEY can't get here soon enough since the months they keep picking keep slipping into some other month!). I think the Monsters will sell well to kids - provided the packaging isn't drastically different so the kiddies will know this weird and wonderful looking alien is a Doctor Who monster. The Doctors themselves - I dunno how the kids will react. But I think the classic fans will balance that out as I've seen posts from several fans on other boards that state they intend to buy the Doctors even though they generally don't buy toys (gasp!).

Also, I bet the Classic Line will sell in the US *better* than the New Series Line! Seriously! I think it will be another one of those odd American Market Thingies which CO would do well to tailer the case configs to reflect. So I hope the inventory Keith and Jany has starts moving (I'm sure they do too!) pretty quickly to make room for the Classic Series Figures!!! :-)

Let's say they do get released in August. We probably won't get them until December.

I think the classic line of monsters offers the new generation credible aliens to devise their own stories for too. Way cool.

Maybe they could do UNIT as a set of it's own if things really sell like crazy, ( The Brigadier , Sgt. Benton, Capt. Mike Yates, Lt. Harry Sullivan)? They could include Jo Grant, and Liz Shaw? Maybe do a civillian clothed Harry as a variant? Invasion & Revenge styled Cybermen? A Delgado Master figure? The UNIT angle is a good selling point; c'mon Character Options, think about it!
