| | I assume you will eventually be getting these, even though the DVDs are Region 2 PAL. Any word on when that might be? I picked up the first Torchwood DVD from Amazon. I'm just glad I have a multi-region player. The DVD is excellent. |

| | The problem with region 2 DVDs is that we often get stuck with them... We've done it with the Doctor Who DVDs in the past because demand was so high, but we make absolutely nothing on them because of importing them, etc. So my gut reaction is, no, no PAL Torchwood DVDs, as much as we'd like to have them. |

| Here's hoping that the show even makes it to the Region 1 territory. I'm doubtful about whether or not it will find air time in America (and if it does, I'm sure it will be toned way down), so I have to wonder whether or not BBC Worldwide will consider it viable for region 1 release.
Having said that, I think CBC gets a nod in the ending credits (as with Doctor Who), so I guess I can assume it will run on the CBC in Canada. Hopefully, that'll be enough to get a region 1 DVD release. |

Since they're helping to pay for it to be produced, I'm sure it will air on the CBC and have no doubt it will show up on a Region 1 DVD... eventually. The question will be if/when it airs in the US and what kind of delay they'll impose on the DVD release if it airs significantly earlier in Canada than in the US.
I've already added my vote at the BBC America website for them to air it.... The edits will be mammoth! |

| I'm all for an edited version airing in the states... as long as we get an unedited version on DVD.
Hopefully if Torchwood sees a Canadian release on DVD, the fine folks at WHO NA will have it for sale. |

| Fun fact -- Russel T Davies' Casanova was shown as a part of Masterpiece Theatre here in America, on PBS. Toned down, of course. It was released on DVD through Masterpiece Theatre, unedited.
It'd be odd if Torchwood ran on PBS. |
