Has anyone had a listen to these yet? Are they worth the investment? I'm torn about taking the plunge and buying them....

I wasn't sure about these either and checked out the OG board, where a lot of folks are praising them, especially the First Doctor one, "Frostfire." Ordered that from WhoNA here and will let you know. I was wondering how these would be, too...

Just listened to "Frostfire," and Maureen O'Brien does a terrific job of recreating the old Tardis crew.

The format is that of Vicki telling a creature about an adventure back when she was traveling with the Doctor (trying not to spoil the plot here). The narrative moves nicely from her moments discussing things with the creature to her story with the Doctor. Maureen does a nice job of doing accents and characters, allowing you to really picture what's going on. Has full sound effects and music and is overall a well done tale that allows us to spend a bit of time with good ol' Billy Hartnell.

I just finished listening to "The Blue Tooth", the one with the proto UNIT family with Liz Shaw, The Third Doctor, the Brigadier, Sgt. Benton, and a newly introduced Capt. Yates.
Caroline Johns steps back into the role of Liz Shaw and invests her with the haughtiness and disdain she may have held for the military mindset compareed with all the love and admiration she felt for the Doctor and his dedication to the cause of seeking scientific knowledge.
Again in the most dramatic way, the clear division between the Brigadier's military close-mindedness and the Doctor's passion for discovery and peaceful solutions is in stark contrast.
Think the end of "Doctor Who and the Silurians" and you'll have a good idea of what I'm talking about.
And yes, that is the name of the story.

So now I've listened to "The Beautiful People" with the enchanting Lalla Ward stepping back to 1979 with the same elegance and take-charge forthrightness she portrayed onscreen given the same character traits through the medium of her voice and post-production effects.
It's clearly an homage to Douglas Adams's influence upon that season as script editor as writer Jonathan Morris cribs passages from THGTTG and refers to it obliquely at one point.
It's worth listening to to hear how Lalla interprets the Fourth Doctor's voice given that she would know better than anyone how barking mad he should sound since she was married to Tom Baker for a spell.

I saw on Outpost Gallifrey that they saw in DWN that the line up for the second series will be Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier, Peter Purves as Steven, and Louise Jameson as Leela.
