| Big Finish has made some nice extras for us, and "I.D." with Colin Baker is a good example.
In the center of the booklet is a kind of poster which really shows off the visual aspect of the story. The buried Tardis in an ocea of dumped technology, the rusty flying ships, and the ScanTron robots mining the garbage really sets the scene. I hope this is something they continue.
I.D is also a good example of how stories should be told - do it in three part rather than drag it out! The extra story, "Urgent Calls" is very good, and it can be seen as a stand-alone story. Excellent.
I normally don't listen to the interviews, but special mention must be made of the interview - monologue, really - with Gyles Brandreth at the end of the first disc. He tells his life story, philosophy, and tells us how he met the first four Doctors in real life. Wonderful stuff!
Big Finish has also released a wallpaper of the next story, "Exotron," which is a practice I hope the continue. |

| | I too, dont go into the interviews very much, but Big Finish did an excellent with the Brandreth intervies, and the Urgent Calls portion was almost better than I.D.........I will pay more attention to the interviews in the future. Listening to Tub Full of Cats now. |

| My initial thought about the new format was negative, but the one-part stories have been excellent so far, so I'm looking forward to more. The next story - Valhalla - appears to not have a one-parter, so I presume it is a four-parter. Strangely enough, it is just Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor without a companion as well (or at least one we've met before).

| I really don't see this 3/1 as a new format. Just a shorter main story, and a second single story to justify that second disc and those extras, subject to value of their worth.
The short stories, as I mentioned in another thread, have so far been more interesting then their main counterpart. |
